Education, volunteers and low cost spay/neuter programs can dramatically reduce the number of feral cats that are breeding and reduce the euthanasia rates. San Jose implemented such a plan with much success. Read about the San Jose Plan.

AB 1634 was approved by the Assembly June 6, 2007 and is now before the California Senate. Read AB 1634 as amended July 3, 2007. Please send Opposition Letters to every member of the California Senate. If you represent a Club or Organization, or are a Veterinarian, please send a separate letter on your letterhead.

AB 1634 will be heard soon by the Senate Committee on Local Government. Please send letters of opposition to every member of that committee and to the committee's consultant. Here is the Local Government Committee contact information.

Visit Your Senator

Face-to-face meeting are very powerful and can impact how a lawmaker votes. Visit your State Senator's local office and ask to discuss you concerns with him or his staff. If you can, go to Sacramento and visit as many Senators' office as possible.
